This project is a fictional collaboration between Loewe and Colombian artist Fernando Botero. Being part of my graduation I imagined a multisensory pop-up/retail space that connects with a younger target audience.
Experience a sensory journey, away from the over- whelming possibilities of the future. Lose yourself in a world of tranquility and simplistic nostalgia through various artistic products, nature, and culture.
The decision to collaborate was an easy one, driven by the shared love that Botero and Loewe have for inflated objects. Loewe previously showcased this through its Inflated Collection, while Botero expresses it through his Boterismo style. Additionally, both share a Spanish-speaking heritage.
This unique space is designed to immerse visitors in the essence of Colombian nature and artistic craftsmanship. Upon entering, guests are greeted by the scent of Loewe’s new home fragrance, accompanied by a specially curated audio experience created exclu- sively for the pop-up. Both elements contribute in their own way to this oasis of tranquility.
Escapar means “to escape” in Spanish.
That’s exactly the experience the home scent is meant to offer: a get- away to another, carefree world.
Inspired by the sculptures of Botero, this unique fragrance is enclosed in a luxurious bottle design. The abstract, chunky shape and bronze finish reflect the fusion of the brand and the artist. It’s a striking de- sign that stands out from the perfume bottles currently sold by Loewe and, beyond its function, also serves beautifully as an art object in any home. Additionally, it’s made from lightweight plastic, making the home scent both user-friendly and recyclable.
United by the core values of the concept, specific ingredients complete the circle. Bergamot, tonka bean, and fougère have stress-reducing effects, making the scent soothing and calming when inhaled. This way, you can momentarily escape reality and relax.
Packed in blind boxes, you can collect mini versions
of Botero’s sculptures, mixed with a pair of sunglasses from Loewe’s Inflated collection. This product brings nostalgia and joy through collecting or trading the minis when you get a duplicate. It also makes it easy to connect with like-minded people who may be facing similar obstacles in life.
